Do I need construction financing?
No. Our customers have the option to buy using a standard construction financing loan from many area lenders, or they can choose to use an end loan product that suits their needs. Both options have advantages, and which one is best for you depend on your particular situation. Ask us about the advantages of each for your needs.
What if I want to make custom changes?
Paragon Homes is a true custom builder. If it is architecturally possibly, we can build it for you. We have thousands of home plans available to look over and modify to fit your dreams, or we can build you a completely custom design. We also work with customers and our architects throughout the design process to ensure that you walk into a home that fits your dreams.
Can I build a new home when I still have an existing home to sell?
Absolutely. Some people become concerned regarding the sale of their old home, but the average length of time to sell a home in Pittsburgh is well within the time frame to construct a new home. There are many options available for people that have a home to sell, both from lenders and guaranteed sale programs.
How long has Paragon Homes been building in our area?
Paragon Homes has been building custom homes in our region for over 20 years. In that time Paragon has built one of the strongest reputations in the area.
What options will I have to choose from?
As many or as few as you desire. Building a true custom home is about choices. As a Paragon homeowner, you can make easy selections from our most popular options or visit any one of our many suppliers’ design centers to fully customize your home. When it comes to selecting your home plans, you may select from our existing designs, have us modify one for you, or design a full set of plans from scratch. Your home design is up to you.
What makes Paragon Different?
As with any company the people are the difference. Paragon has a full staff of employees with over a century of collective experience helping you every step along the way. Other builders offer limited staff or are too big and bureaucratic to build a true custom home.
How much does Paragon charge per square foot?
Unfortunately, square foot prices are impossible to determine this early in the process. A good way to think about it is that it is like buying a new car. A Lexus is about the same size and shape as many cheaper cars, but everybody knows the price differences and the difference in quality. Homes all have four sides and a roof, but are very different in terms of their quality and materials. Every homeowner must decide for themselves if they are looking for a lot of space for their dollar, or a lot of quality in their space.
How long does it take to build a custom home?
Every homeowner has different needs, and thus this question is really up to the customer. Many of our homeowners like to make their selections upfront, and this allows us to be very efficient during construction. Others like to take their time and change things throughout the construction process. You chose to build a custom home, and that means you get to have it your way whichever that way is.
Are there basements available at Brookview?
Yes. Most of the home sites at Brookview come with walkout basements standard. While an unfinished basement is included in the price, many homeowners find that given the walk out ability, a finished basement makes a fantastic space for things like exercise rooms, a second garage for bikes and other outdoor toys, game rooms, wine cellars, or any other specialty space that can be dreamed up.
Who will help me make changes to or find a new home plan?
Our sales representatives, other employees, and our architects have years of experience working with customers to find that perfect plan or to design changes to make another plan perfect.
What if I need help with my selections?
If you need help, that is what we are here for. Please don’t hesitate to ask if there is something that we can assist you with. After all, we do this everyday. Building a new home can something feel cumbersome but we will do everything we can to make sure the process go smoothly.
I already have plans in mind, can you build my dream house?
Definitely. Bring in your plans and we will build them from there or modify them if you like.
What areas does Paragon build in?
Paragon has been building in our area's best communities, as well as on your lot. Our most notable communities are Nevillewood, Peters Township, Seinna Woods, Cherington, Snowberry Woods, Walkers Ridge and Fayette Farms
Do you have any homes available for immediate occupancy?
Usually we do. We try to maintain homes for people we need to move in quickly, but sometimes they sell fast. In addition to being available quickly, these homes make nice showpieces for our prospective buyers to see our craftsmanship.

Do I have to sign a construction contract to design a custom plan?
No, when we begin to design your home, your initial meetings and rough sketches are provided to you free of charge. When you decide to send your ideas to our licensed architect, we only ask that you pay a deposit to cover the costs associated with full architectural design.
Can I afford a custom home?
For years the big myth has been that custom home are too expensive for the average buyer. That is simply not true. Other builders set up their operations to build the same home over and over again. This causes any option of upgrade to be very costly. We set up our process to build custom homes efficiently. We have found that buyers who add options to homes whose “starting” price is lower usually end up spending more in the long run than if they had started with us. We have built full custom homes as low as $190,000 to well over $2,000,000.
